Professor Allardyce Nicoll, Literary critic and historian of drama, was
Arthur John Harris' (Jack's) director of studies at the
Shakespeare Institute, Stratford-on-Avon.

and later Ph.D. Read Jack's admission letter
for the Ph.D. program, 1961.
The Shakespeare Institute is a special graduate
division of the University of Birmingham, England located in Mason Croft,
an historic building at Stratford in the heart of Shakespeare country.
