Professor Allardyce Nicoll 1894 - 1976

        Professor Allardyce Nicoll, Literary critic and historian of drama, was Arthur John Harris' (Jack's) director of studies at the Shakespeare Institute, Stratford-on-Avon.
       In 1954 Professor Allardyce Nicoll and Sir Barry Jackson admitted Jack to the Shakespeare Institute to start his MA and later Ph.D. Read Jack's admission letter for the Ph.D. program, 1961.

The Shakespeare Institute is a special graduate division of the University of Birmingham, England located in Mason Croft, an historic building at Stratford in the heart of Shakespeare country.
